If a residency or immigration authority asks for someone to be authorised to handle a transaction for you, begin with the authority and the exact task. A residency power of attorney is not a residence permit or an approval of the underlying application. It records the proposed representative’s authority, subject to the wording and the procedure accepted by the recipient.
Identify the authority and procedure
Your request may concern submitting an application, following up a file or collecting a document. Explain whether you are acting personally or for a company and whose file is involved. The authority and its channel matter: having a power of attorney does not automatically replace requirements concerning the account holder, file owner or personal attendance.
What should the authority describe?
The review considers the intended actions, principal, representative and relevant establishment or file information. Signing, collection and a specified form of representation should be discussed separately. A template should not introduce wider changes than you intend. The document also should not be presented as a promise that a residency or immigration application will succeed.
Individual and company requests
For an individual enquiry, explain the connection to the file and what the representative will handle. A business enquiry should identify the company, proposed signatory and basis of signing authority. If the person contacting the office is already acting under an appointment, that document and the relevant powers need review; authority to delegate again is not assumed.
Information for the initial review
Start with any written requirements the receiving authority has provided and mention a pending appointment or existing application. Identification and file documents should be sent through the channel identified after the initial review.
- Names, capacities and a contact method for the applicant.
- The authority, transaction type and a general reference where needed.
- Written instructions or a prescribed form supplied by the recipient.
- Company details and evidence of signing capacity, where applicable.
How the work proceeds
The team reviews the summary to identify whether a power of attorney is the appropriate instrument and what information is missing. The scope, wording, documents, charges and available notarisation route for the transaction are then explained. Using the completed document in the residency application remains a separate step through the recipient’s procedure. Retain the instrument and its reference.
Timing, cost and service boundaries
The principal’s capacity, document condition and language, requested powers and available procedure influence the estimate. Applicable notarisation charges are distinguished from charges imposed by the receiving authority. A client outside Dubai should mention their location for eligibility review; it does not establish that every part can be completed remotely or within a fixed time.
Frequently asked questions
Does the power of attorney guarantee a residence renewal?
No. The competent authority decides the underlying application. This service concerns review of the proposed authority and the suitable notarisation process.
Should I send my account password to the representative?
Do not include passwords or verification codes in your enquiry. Ask the authority which representation channel is accepted instead of sharing account credentials.
Can an existing appointment be used?
Provide it for review with the current task and the recipient’s instructions. Its powers and details can then be assessed before another document is proposed.
