Ending a power of attorney: distinguish the document from notification

A request to cancel a power of attorney may mean ending a representative’s authority, telling them to stop, or addressing use of the document with a particular organisation. These objectives are related but do not necessarily form one procedure. Start with the instrument, circumstances and acts already undertaken, then establish the appropriate document, notification route and follow-up.
Choose a declaration by the recipient’s request and the facts

A declaration is not a universal form for every organisation. The request might concern residence, employment, a signature, a debt or money received. Similar headings can conceal very different statements and consequences. Before looking for a template, obtain the recipient’s instructions and identify the facts to be stated and the person able to state them in the appropriate capacity.
Your location alone does not determine the notarial route

If you live in another emirate or outside the UAE, you may first ask whether the office can help. Describe the transaction as well as your location. The appropriate route depends on the instrument, parties’ capacities, jurisdiction, verification method and intended recipient. The requirements and available procedure can be clarified after those details are reviewed.
Prepare a foreign document around its source and intended recipient

An overseas document may support a representative’s authority, company details or another fact relevant to a transaction. Before translating it or booking a procedure, establish where it came from and what it must demonstrate. Endorsements do not repair missing substance, translation does not correct the original, and an electronic file is not automatically an original digital document issued by an authority.
